Mark: As a photographer, I feel that Instagram & its assorted filtration systems have pushed HDR and heavy Photoshop editing onto the back of a jumping shark. I still love great composition, color, texture and subject, however images dripping in post-production goo turn me off.

(start dramatic voice) Imagine this shot in your minds eye, a black & white photo of a rose but only the rose’s petals are red! Gasp! (/start dramatic voice) It’s been overdone to the Nth degree! Granted it worked for Schindler’s List, but that was forever ago— back when the idea was fresh.
